Beach & surf

Westwinds sits at the heart of North Cornwall's Seven Bays — each with its own character, from sheltered coves to surf-battered headlands. Over the stile and you're in the dunes; ten minutes by car opens up the rest.

Booby's Bay at high tide

Boobys’s Bay

Our favourite and just a minutes walk from the house. At low tide it merges with Constantine to form over half a mile of unbroken golden sand. The name comes from a gannet-like seabird once spotted diving offshore in storms. Dog-friendly all year round. The best for surfing but check the tides!

Harlyn Bay Beach

One of Cornwall's best all-round beaches — wide, sandy, and sheltered enough for families yet with rolling Atlantic swells that keep surfers coming back. Dog-friendly year-round with no seasonal restrictions.
